2027 Polls: INEC to Publish Governorship

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will, from Saturday, August 29, display the names of candidates nominated by political parties for the 2027 governorship and State House of Assembly elections.

The commission said the exercise is part of the electoral process aimed at promoting transparency and giving Nigerians the opportunity to scrutinise the nominations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to INEC, members of the public can inspect the published lists and raise objections where necessary in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act.

The electoral body urged political parties, candidates and other stakeholders to take advantage of the display period to verify the information submitted and ensure the accuracy of candidates' details before the elections.
