Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, and Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), also known as diesel, with the new rates taking effect from Thursday, August 6.

Under the revised pricing structure, the refinery reduced the ex-depot price of petrol by ₦50 per litre to ₦1,165 from ₦1,215, while diesel was cut by ₦80 per litre to ₦1,570 from the previous ₦1,650 per litre.

The company said the price adjustment is part of its commitment to making refined petroleum products more affordable and accessible to Nigerians while supporting economic activities across the country.

Dangote Refinery noted that the reduction was driven by improved operational efficiencies, adding that it remains focused on maintaining a stable supply of high-quality petroleum products to consumers, businesses and other stakeholders.

The refinery also reaffirmed its role in strengthening Nigeria's energy security by reducing dependence on imported fuel and boosting local refining capacity.

According to the company, it will continue to pass the benefits of operational improvements to consumers whenever market conditions permit, while supporting national economic growth through the consistent supply of world-class petroleum products.
