Motorists and commuters in Port Harcourt have been advised to use alternative routes following an accident involving a heavy-duty truck on Azikiwe Road.
The truck reportedly fell on the busy roadway leading to the Rivers State Government House and the Old Port Harcourt Township, causing a major obstruction and disrupting the free flow of traffic.
Although details surrounding the cause of the accident were not immediately available, the incident has left the affected section of the road impassable for many vehicles.
Road users have been urged to avoid the area and take alternative routes until the truck is removed and normal traffic is restored.
Officials are expected to commence clearance operations, while motorists are advised to exercise patience and comply with traffic management directives to prevent further congestion.
