The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved 10 new postgraduate programmes for the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, expanding the institution\'s capacity for advanced training in security, law, management and forensic sciences.
The approval followed a successful resource verification exercise conducted by a team from the commission, which assessed the academy\'s facilities, academic resources and personnel for the proposed programmes.
The newly approved programmes will be offered on a full-time basis and are expected to strengthen professional and academic development in critical areas of national security and public administration.
The programmes include a Master\'s degree and Postgraduate Diploma in Crime Management, Prevention and Control; Postgraduate Diplomas in Peace and Conflict Studies and Police Studies; and Master\'s and Postgraduate Diploma programmes in Management Studies.
Others are Master\'s and Postgraduate Diploma programmes in Law, Biochemistry, Financial Economics and Forensic DNA, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Entrepreneurship.

According to him, the courses will be open not only to police personnel but also to officers of other security and intelligence agencies, as well as qualified members of the public.
He added that details regarding admission requirements, application deadlines and registration procedures would be made available in due course.
