Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has celebrated the re-election of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, in the just-concluded Osun State governorship election.

Moments after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Adeleke winner of the poll, the award-winning singer took to his verified X account to express his excitement over the victory.

In a brief post, Davido wrote, “We did it, Uncle.”

The message quickly attracted reactions from supporters and fans, many of whom joined him in congratulating the governor on securing a second term in office.

INEC had declared the Accord Party candidate winner after he polled 511,067 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes.

The victory earned Adeleke another four-year mandate to govern Osun State following a closely contested election.

Davido was actively involved in his uncle's campaign and publicly mobilised support for him throughout the election period.

The singer's celebration reflects the excitement within the Adeleke family and supporters following the governor's successful re-election.
