Rivers School Proprietress Docked Over Alleged Assault of Student

The proprietress of Phronesis Nursery, Primary and Secondary School, located along NTA Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has been arraigned before a Magistrate’s Court over the alleged assault of a 16-year-old male student.

The defendant, Mrs. Orjiugo Udeala, was arraigned by the Rumuepirikom Police Division of the Rivers State Police Command on charges bordering on conspiracy and assault allegedly committed within the school premises.

According to the charge sheet signed by CSP Ahmed Abubakar Umar, the school administrator was accused of participating in an incident that led to the alleged assault of the student. The charges were read to her in court, where she pleaded not guilty.

During the proceedings, the prosecution presented the allegations as contained in the police charge filed before the court.

Presiding Magistrate Charles Wobisike Akpeh granted the defendant bail in the sum of ₦100,000 with one surety in like amount. The court also directed that the surety must be a resident within its jurisdiction.

The matter was subsequently adjourned until August 10 for further hearing.
