The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Rivers State has announced the establishment of special mega centres across Port Harcourt to boost participation in the second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

According to a statement issued by the Commission, the centres will operate from Tuesday, April 7 to Sunday, April 12, 2026, running daily between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

INEC said the initiative is aimed at expanding access for eligible Nigerians, particularly those who have recently turned 18, as well as individuals seeking transfer of registration, replacement of lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and correction of personal details.

The designated mega registration centres include the New Convocation Arena at University of Port Harcourt, Love Garden at Rivers State University, the Union Office at Mile 3 Market, RTC Park at Waterlines, the Old Lecture Hall at Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, and the Students’ Union Hall at Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic.

The Commission urged residents, especially students and those within the Port Harcourt metropolis, to take advantage of the exercise to register and update their voter information.

INEC reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring inclusivity, transparency, and credibility in the electoral process across the state.
