Pastor Found Dead Inside Akwa Ibom Church

A pastor of the Power in the Word of God for the World Ministry in Oron, Akwa Ibom State, was found dead inside his church on Thursday, with the circumstances surrounding his death still under investigation.

The incident occurred at the church premises on Etim Inyang Street in Oron Local Government Area, sparking shock among residents and members of the community.

Unverified reports circulating on social media have suggested that the cleric may have taken his own life. However, there has been no official confirmation from the police or any other authority to substantiate the claims.

Videos shared online and seen by journalists showed the pastor's body being removed from the church by individuals believed to be members of the congregation. Another video captured the body, wrapped in cloth, inside a police patrol vehicle belonging to the Oron Area Command.

As of the time of filing this report, the exact cause of death remained unknown, while the police had yet to issue an official statement on the incident.

Efforts to obtain comments from the Akwa Ibom State Police Command were unsuccessful, as the Police Public Relations Officer, Timfon John, did not respond to telephone calls or text messages.

Authorities are expected to investigate the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the pastor's death.
