Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has endorsed the continuity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declaring that Nigeria remains in capable hands under his leadership.
The governor spoke on Thursday at Galaxy La-Palm Royal Resort, GRA, Port Harcourt as Guest of Honour at a meeting of the Southern Traditional Rulers Council.
He expressed confidence in the President’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” noting that despite existing challenges, the administration has demonstrated commitment to economic transformation and inclusive development.
Fubara said Nigerians should support Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 to sustain ongoing reforms and national development efforts.
The governor also described the gathering of traditional rulers as a reflection of peace and unity in Rivers State, as well as a reaffirmation of shared identity among southern states despite cultural barriers and language differences.
He stressed the need for stronger regional cooperation, saying collaboration among southern leaders would enhance knowledge-sharing and accelerate progress in peace, security, and development.
Gov. Fubara commended the council for its role in promoting unity and safeguarding the collective interests of the region, while highlighting the importance of traditional institutions as custodians of culture and key partners in governance especially in contributing significantly to peace building and policy development.
Earlier, the Chairman of the council and the Oni of Ife, His Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, praised the governor for his respect for traditional institutions and reiterated the council’s commitment to fostering unity, peace, and progress across southern Nigeria and the country at large.
