The Lagos State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Monday organised a peaceful road walk to advocate improved security and lasting peace across the country.

Led by the State Chairman of CAN, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, the procession moved through major roads in Alausa, Ikeja, with participants calling on government authorities to intensify efforts to tackle the nation's security challenges.

The march featured clergymen, Christian faithful and concerned citizens carrying placards bearing messages such as, "Pray for Nigeria," "No to School Children Abduction," and “Release the Oyo School Children Now!”

The peace walk commenced and concluded at the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, where participants also offered prayers for national unity, peace and sustainable development.

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) were deployed to provide security throughout the exercise, ensuring the event was conducted peacefully without any reported incident.

The organisers said the initiative was aimed at drawing public attention to the growing security concerns in the country while urging collective action to restore safety and protect lives and property.
