Senator Ned Nwoko has appealed to fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators to give his wife, Regina Daniels, some breathing space as she battles health challenges.

Nwoko made the appeal in a statement, urging members of the public to show compassion and support Regina rather than subject her to criticism, judgment and negative publicity.

He said the appeal was also important for the sake of their children, who, according to him, are well cared for and deserve to see their mother loved, supported and given the opportunity to recover.

The senator noted that Regina had been through a lot, more than many people might realise, adding that her immediate needs were love, support and an enabling environment to heal.

He explained that the video Regina shared on her birthday offered the public a glimpse into some of the health challenges she had been experiencing.

According to him, having witnessed what she had endured, this was not the time to judge, vilify or increase her burdens but to demonstrate understanding and compassion.

Nwoko stressed that despite the difficulties in their relationship, Regina's well-being had always remained important to him, adding that concern for her welfare was what brought much of their private situation into the public domain.

He also expressed concern over the circulation of false and disturbing reports about her, particularly fabricated death announcements, misleading health reports and other hurtful publications on social media.

He warned that such publications were not harmless attempts to generate online engagement, noting that Regina came across many of the posts and found them deeply distressing.

The senator urged her genuine fans and supporters to discourage the spread of false information rather than amplify such content, stressing that it could further undermine her recovery.

Nwoko further declared that he would not tolerate the deliberate dissemination of false information about Regina, particularly fabricated reports concerning her death, health and personal circumstances.

He disclosed that the publications were being documented and warned that those found responsible for spreading such misinformation would be held accountable through appropriate legal channels.

He maintained that Regina deserved the opportunity to recover without being subjected to daily waves of fabricated stories and unnecessary public scrutiny.
