Nigerian military aircraft operating under Operation Hadin Kai have destroyed several terrorist structures and logistics facilities, killing about 18 terrorists in an airstrike at Tumbunma Baba in the Tumbuns general area.

Destroy Logistics Hubs in Borno

The operation was conducted at about 6:05 a.m. on September 11, following intelligence indicating that a high-profile terrorist meeting was taking place on the islands.

Military sources said intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions conducted on September 9 had identified several terrorist structures and logistics hubs in the area.

Following confirmation of the targets, the aircraft moved in and engaged the identified locations with onboard munitions.

The strikes reportedly destroyed several structures and logistics facilities while neutralising approximately 18 terrorists believed to be operating from the enclave.

Military authorities assessed the operation as having achieved about 85 per cent success, while further air interdiction was recommended to consolidate the gains and disrupt surviving terrorist elements.

The operation forms part of the military’s sustained campaign to degrade terrorist networks, destroy their logistics infrastructure and restrict their movement and coordination within the Tumbuns.
