The Rivers State Ministry of Education has announced that all primary and secondary schools across the state will resume for the first term of the 2026/2027 academic session on Monday, September 7, 2026.
The ministry, in a public interest announcement issued on Thursday, directed all public and private schools to commence both academic and non-academic activities on the approved resumption date.
It also instructed schools to operate strictly in line with the prescribed guidelines for the new academic session.
According to the statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Mina Tele Ikuru, private schools are required to comply fully with the government-approved academic calendar for the 2026/2027 session.
The announcement urged school proprietors, administrators, parents, guardians and the general public to take note of the resumption date and ensure full compliance.
