Afrobeats superstar David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has declared that no form of political intimidation or "political rascality" will stop Governor Ademola Adeleke from winning a second term in the August 15 Osun State governorship election.
Davido, who chairs the Imole Youth Campaign Council, expressed confidence that the people of Osun State would re-elect the incumbent governor based on his administration's performance.
Speaking through his deputy, Hon. Kayode Olododo, during the inauguration of the Imole Youth Canvassers for the Osogbo Federal Constituency in Osogbo on Tuesday, the music star urged party supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the election.
He charged the newly inaugurated canvassers to encourage new and undecided voters to support Governor Adeleke, citing what he described as the administration's impressive record in infrastructure development and youth empowerment.
Davido said supporters should remain peaceful and focused despite what he termed political intimidation by opposition elements, insisting that the governor's achievements would speak for themselves at the polls.
According to him, Osogbo Federal Constituency has benefited significantly from the Adeleke administration through improved infrastructure and other developmental projects.
He also maintained that young people have been given greater opportunities and representation under the current administration than in previous governments.
The Afrobeats star urged the youth campaign team to avoid violence, engage voters constructively and convince undecided residents by highlighting the governor's accomplishments across the state.
Earlier, the Director of Operations of the Imole Campaign Council, Dr. Musthofa Adebayo, described the canvassers as the driving force of the campaign.
He said their responsibility was to take the campaign message to every community, mobilise voters and ensure maximum participation on election day.
Adebayo expressed confidence that youths in the Osogbo Federal Constituency would play a decisive role in securing victory for Governor Adeleke and sustaining what he described as the administration's record of good governance and development.
