Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy and Colombian music sensation Shakira have reunited ahead of their performance at the historic FIFA World Cup final halftime show scheduled for Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United States.

The Grammy-winning Nigerian singer shared a video on his X account on Friday showing the pair warmly embracing and exchanging smiles during rehearsals for the landmark event.

Captioning the post, Burna Boy wrote: β€œSunday Prep! @shakira See you at the @FIFAWorldCup Final! Dai dai, ikΓ³, dale, allez, let\\\'s go!”

The rehearsal footage, accompanied by photographs, captured both artistes in relaxed outfits sharing laughter and a hug outside the production area as preparations gathered momentum for the first-ever Super Bowl-style halftime show at a FIFA World Cup final.

FIFA had earlier confirmed Burna Boy and Shakira as headline performers of \\\"Dai Dai,\\\" the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, during the highly anticipated entertainment spectacle.

The halftime performance marks a major innovation by football\\\'s world governing body, which is introducing a music show similar to the National Football League\\\'s Super Bowl halftime entertainment for the first time in World Cup history.

To accommodate the show, the traditional 15-minute halftime interval is expected to be extended to about 30 minutes, allowing time for pre-performance analysis and an approximately 11-minute live musical presentation.

The event will also feature performances by international stars, including BTS, Madonna and Justin Bieber, alongside acclaimed conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus with Coldplay, and appearances by beloved characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets.

According to FIFA, the halftime show is designed not only to entertain millions of football fans worldwide but also to promote global education initiatives for children.

Sunday\\\'s World Cup final will pit Spain against Argentina in what promises to be a thrilling contest, with Burna Boy and Shakira expected to provide one of the tournament\\\'s biggest off-the-pitch highlights.

The duo had previously performed \\\"Dai Dai\\\" at the tournament\\\'s opening ceremony in Mexico City, where the song was officially unveiled as the anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
