The Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP) has stepped up efforts to ensure its enrollees continue to receive quality healthcare services across the state.
The agency disclosed this following a quality assessment exercise conducted at selected Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) facilities in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Speaking after the exercise, the Executive Secretary of RIVCHPP, Dr Vetty Agala, who was represented by the Head of Standards and Quality Control, Pharm. Bona Vopnu, said the agency remained committed to maintaining high standards of healthcare delivery for beneficiaries of the scheme.
The assessment team visited the Primary Health Centre, Erema; Model Primary Health Centre, Akabuka; Model Primary Health Centre, Oboburu; and Model Primary Health Centre, Omoku.
According to Vopnu, the routine monitoring exercise was aimed at evaluating compliance with established healthcare standards and assessing the quality of services being provided to RIVCHPP enrollees.
He said the visits enabled the agency to assess healthcare delivery processes, review adherence to BHCPF guidelines and identify areas requiring improvement.
The team inspected facility operations, availability of essential medicines and medical equipment, record-keeping practices, infrastructure and overall service delivery systems.
Vopnu explained that the exercise also provided an opportunity for the agency to interact with health workers, offer technical support and strengthen accountability mechanisms within the facilities.
He noted that RIVCHPP plans to intensify such monitoring visits as part of efforts to ensure efficient, transparent and quality primary healthcare services for residents across the state.
The agency further assured stakeholders that identified gaps and challenges would receive prompt attention to improve service delivery and enhance the healthcare experience of enrollees.
RIVCHPP said the initiative forms part of its broader mandate to guarantee access to quality and affordable healthcare services for all beneficiaries under the state\'s health insurance programme.
