The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has launched its 2026 recruitment exercise, inviting qualified citizens from member countries, including Nigeria, to apply for more than 30 job openings across its institutions.

In a notice published on Thursday via its official website, the regional bloc said the recruitment drive is designed to strengthen the execution of its sectoral programmes.

ECOWAS encouraged interested applicants to submit their applications through its careers portal, outlining a wide range of opportunities both within and outside Nigeria.

Available positions in Abuja include Office Aide, Programme Assistant, Nurse, Protocol Assistant, Documentation and Archives Assistant, Office Manager (Bilingual Secretary), Junior Accountant (Disbursements), Accountant roles, Legal Officers, Political Advisor, Principal Officers, Registrar positions, Head of Division (Library and Documentation), and Head of Hansard.

Outside Nigeria, vacancies include Administrative and Finance Officer in Addis Ababa, PPO (Sports Policy) in Liberia, Principal Programme Officer (Water Supply and Sanitation) in Conakry, as well as other legal and administrative roles in Dakar.

The organisation stated that applicants must meet specific age requirements: 35 years for General Services and Support roles (G1–G7), 45 years for Professional positions (P1–P7), and 50 years for Director-level roles (D1–D2).

ECOWAS also urged women to apply, noting that only shortlisted candidates would be contacted.

Applicants are required to download and complete the official application form, attach a curriculum vitae and a motivation letter, and submit all documents via designated email addresses before the deadline.

β€œAll applications must include the application form, CV and a cover letter. Applications that do not contain all mandatory documents will not be considered,” the notice stated.

The application window closes on April 30, 2026.

ECOWAS further emphasised that the recruitment process is free of charge, warning applicants to disregard any fraudulent requests for payment or sensitive financial information.
